3. The Children of the Corn Remake Could Feature Randall Flagg
965893Already making history as one of few mainstream Hollywood projects to be completed in quarantine during the global COVID-19 lockdown, Equilibrium director Kurt Wimmer has been tight lipped about the details of his upcoming reboot of Carrie author Stephen King's eighties horror hit Children of the Corn.
Well, it's sort of Stephen King's hit, as the kind of hilarious 1984 Linda Hamilton vehicle barely adapts the original story and instead goes off on a few tangents of its own invention.
Wimmer has said his version will hew closer to the original short story from the writer's famous Night Shift collection. Meanwhile, we do know that a big budget television re-do of King’s iconic doorstopper The Stand was shelved earlier this year during post-production due to, you know, the story being about a global pandemic.
So, since Children of the Corn’s mysterious monster He Who Walks Amongst the Rows is often assumed by King fans to be The Stand’s villain Randall Flagg, will Flagg put an appearance in for this theatrical outing instead, now that his big budget television return has been stymied?
