10 Upcoming Horror Movies With INCREDIBLE Plots

1. We Bury the Dead

Fresh off her searing performance in thriller Magpie, Daisy Ridley seeks to impress once again in We Bury the Dead - a survival horror film in which Ridley plays Ava Newman, a woman desperately searching for her husband in the wake of a disastrous military experiment.

That logline might not sound inherently Earth-shattering, but here's the grim rub - as a last ditch effort to try and locate her husband alive, Ava joins a "body retrieval unit" tasked with collecting the corpses of those subject to the experiment.

Before long, Ava discovers that the corpses are reanimating. Why yes, We Bury the Dead is a zombie movie, though Ridley has assured fans that the film is an emotionally heightened take on the arguably played-out genre, that's as much about one woman's agonising search for her husband as it is an undead apocalypse.

Hopefully it'll continue Daisy Ridley's streak of starring in intriguingly left-field, well-executed genre projects as of late.
