10 Upcoming Horrors We Can't Believe Are Happening

Inspired by true events, Greg McLean's Wolf Creek centres around a trio of backpackers who get lost in the Australian outback. Although the group believe they'll be safe after being picked up by a local called Mick Taylor (John Jarratt), they quickly realise their knight in shining armour is a serial killer.

Wolf Creek only found minor success, but there's no doubt it's among the most chilling slashers in decades. John Jarratt is so disarmingly charismatic as Mick that it's easy to see how this sicko pulls the wool over his victims' eyes, making it more terrifying when he reveals his sadistic side.

Though Wolf Creek birthed an awesome sequel and a two-season series, the Aussie saga never went mainstream.

But with another instalment on the way, now is the chance for Wolf Creek to receive further recognition. Wolf Creek: Legacy will revolve around a group of American tourists who find themselves being hunted by Mick. After making short work of the parents, Mick starts pursuing the tourists' children through the sweltering outback.

Regardless of how the finished product turns out, it'll be refreshing to see John Jarratt return in his career-defining role.
