10 Upcoming Horrors We Can't Believe Are Happening

7. Insidious: The Bleeding World

Insidious: The Red Door felt like the conclusion of James Wan and Leigh Whannell's creepy brand, since it tied up all of the loose ends surrounding the haunting that plagued the Lambert family.

But after Insidious: The Red Door earned its money back tenfold, there was no way the studio was going to leave this cash cow alone. Less than a year after the alleged final chapter premiered, Sony reported Insidious: The Bleeding World was in development.

Although it seems like Sony is milking the property for everything it's worth, this new entry is intriguing. This time around, a group of stalkers obsessed with The Further has forced a new family into the astral plane. While there, the family discovers the dark dimension has begun to merge with the real world (hence the title).

A sequel seems unnecessary, but it's reassuring to hear The Bleeding World is exploring different ideas rather than churning out the same spooky shenanigans we've all seen again and again.

And if The Bleeding World does well, it may lead to a whole batch of Insidious sequels.
