7. Delroy Lindo - Jamal Afari
The MCU's long-gestating Blade reboot is preparing to start shooting later this year, with Mahershala Ali set to play the vampiric superhero. Sweetening the deal, late last year the great Delroy Lindo was also confirmed to appear in the film in an undisclosed role.
Rumours immediately began swirling that Lindo would be playing Blade's mentor from the comics, Jamal Afari, who was effectively reimagined as Abraham Whistler (Kris Kristofferson) in the Wesley Snipes-starring Blade movies.
It makes 100% sense that Marvel Studios would reintroduce Blade's original Black mentor from the comics, and there are few actors who would be better suited for the part than the steely, grizzled Lindo.
Leaker GreatPhase has stated several times throughout the year so far that Lindo is indeed playing Jamal Afari, and that the character will appear primarily in flashbacks detailing his mentorship of a young Blade.
