10. Sonic The Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog is the video game franchise that refuses to lie down and die. While never quite reaching the same heights of mass popularity it experienced in its Mega Drive/Genesis heydays, new iterations frequently appear on each successive console. For better or worse, the character appears to be here to stay. Whether or not that's a good thing for gamers is open to debate, but you have to question just who is likely to be enthusiastic about the upcoming cinematic adventure for the spiky blue mammal. Sure, he's being doing the rounds in cartoon form for a while, so perhaps there's a small market of young fans who might appreciate the hybrid live-action and animation feature coming from Sony Pictures, but it all feels as if it should've been done years ago. Still, they'd have to go out of their way to produce a movie as woefully misjudged as the big screen adaptation of Super Mario Bros. Rarely has source material been so completely wasted.
