10 Upcoming Movie Sequels Everyone Will Ignore

July 2018 marks the 19th anniversary of Deep Blue Sea, a fun romp from director Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger) that proved not every killer shark movie has to be Sharktopus or – the horror, the horror – Sharknado.

Harlin doesn’t return for this sequel and neither do any of the movie’s survivors, which is probably just as well because the trailer would give them a feeling of deja vu. Promising a retread of the first movie on a Roger Corman budget and starring nobody you’ve ever heard of, Deep Blue Sea 2 looks like a great movie to miss.

You know the drill: they’re experimenting on sharks in a remote ocean facility, something goes wrong and the sharks start attacking them. Or as the trailer puts it: “Their next step in evolution has surfaced… stronger… wiser… deadlier!”

Ignore it or this time next year you’ll be watching Deep Blue Three starring David Hasselhoff and Tara Reid.
