10 Upcoming Movies That Just Got Delayed

5. Mutiny

Mutiny is an upcoming action thriller starring Jason Statham as Cole Reed, a former member of the Special Forces now working in private security, who is framed for murdering his billionaire friend and uncovers an international conspiracy while hunting down the real killer.

Pretty standard fare for The Stath, then.

The film was originally set to release on January 9, 2026, and given that Statham's The Beekeeper was an early-January box office smash last year, that date certainly made sense.

But at the start of August, Lionsgate announced that Mutiny was being indefinitely delayed to an unspecified date in summer 2026 with the Gerard Butler sequel Greenland 2: Migration instead taking the January 9 date.

No reason has been given for the delay, though considering the film wrapped shooting way back in November 2024, it's most likely close to finished, if not already done.

A January release would've left Mutiny with little direct box office competition, but it goes without saying that the blockbuster-filled summer will prove considerably more challenging for it.
