10 Upcoming Movies That Nobody Asked For

5. Johnny English 3

It has taken a full fifteen years for the Johnny English franchise to reach its conclusion and at this point, does anybody really care?

The first movie came out at a time when Austin Powers had made the spy spoof relevant again, which goes some way to explaining how it earned over $160m at the box office in the wake of middling reviews. The sequel took eight years to reach the big screen and when it did, the critical and commercial performance was virtually exactly the same as its predecessor.

The Johnny English franchise has been around for so long that in the interim Jason Bourne assumed the mantle of cinema's greatest spy, James Bond was rebooted in an attempt to reclaim his throne and the Mission: Impossible series has been going from strength to strength. Even the Fast and Furious movies feature their fair share of espionage these days.

With secret agent cinema more popular than it has been for a long time, an uninspired parody of classic 007 is hardly inspiring in 2018. Set for release in September, it would be a huge surprise if casual audiences even knew that Johnny English 3 was being made, let alone six months away from hitting theaters.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
