10 Upcoming Movies That Will (Probably) Tease Cinematic Universes

5. Masters Of The Universe

The Masters of the Universe franchise, and He-Man in particular, has been able to stay alive in the modern world through both ironic and unironic references and the loving nostalgia it has received. Despite this, a complete revival has struggled to come into fruition with the reboot film having gone through development hell. That is until recently, when Noah Centineo confirmed that he would be playing He-Man and Sony announced a March 2021 release date.

With the film finally coming together, you can bet that this won't be just another one-and-done, if Sony has their way that is. The recent success of Netflix's popular animated series She-Ra and the Princesses of Power is more than enough reason to co-launch an eponymous film franchise through the Masters of the Universe reboot.

The largest obstacle is the inherent cheesiness of Masters of the Universe, but if audiences are able to embrace this then Sony may have a new hit in their hands. A shared universe that is symbiotic with LGBT representation and glorious sci-fi fantasy action would certainly have a place in modern society.
