10 Upcoming Movies Which Are Already Doomed

It's quite the understatement to call The Expendables a tainted brand - not that it was really all that exciting to begin with.

After two passably entertaining movies, the series pissed off a large swath of its fanbase by going the PG-13 route for The Expendables 3, and the wheels well and truly came off the franchise with 2023's critical and commercial mega-flop, Expend4bles. But Lionsgate recently announced that they're planning to resurrect the series with Expendabelles - effectively a female-centric version of The Expendables.

This actually isn't a new idea at all - Expendabelles was first announced way back in 2012, with producers claiming that Meryl Streep, Cameron Diaz and Milla Jovovich were in talks to star - but development stalled long enough that the film was eventually shelved. Until now, with the new version taking place in the 1990s amid the "Y2K era."

The Expendables property is long past tarnished, and even those who enjoyed the first two have long since moved on. If Expendabelles does actually get made, expect it to fall totally flat with an utterly uninterested fanbase.
