Fans of animation, especially of the Japanese variety, should know who Hayao Miyazaki is.

As one of the co-founders of Studio Ghibli, Miyazaki is one of the most important people in the history of animated films, if not the entire world of movie-making as a whole.

Now, at the grand old age of 82, he's back directing Ghibli's latest output, How Do You Live?

The product of seven years' worth of work, How Do You Live? is based on the 1937 novel of the same. However, because Miyazaki can't do anything the easy way, he's turned it into a story where the book itself is part of the narrative.

Stop it, we're dizzy already!

The director has promised us a "big fantastical film", although we'd expect nothing less from the brain behind Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, and Spirited Away.

With Miyazaki getting on a bit, fans of his are wondering if this will be his final outing on the big screen. This, combined with its interesting premise, makes How Do You Live? one of the most anticipated animated movies of any kind for 2023.

Although, he could have said he was making a film about peeling potatoes and people still would have watched it.
