10 Upcoming Sequels In Franchises You Thought Were Long Dead

5. Inferno (2016)

We can all recall that time we sat down to watch Ron Howard's adaptation of The Da Vinci Code and realised how stupid the whole thing was, which shouldn't have been all that much of a surprise, to be fair, given that the book was pretty naff to begin with. Still, it made money, and so came Angels and Demons, a sequel, which succeeded admirably in the "it was even worst than the first movie" department. Go figure. We haven't had a new chapter in the Robert Langdon - who was played by Tom Hanks in both movies - saga for five years. But that isn't going to stop Howard and Hanks from adapting the latest awful bestseller to have been drawn from Dan Brown's grubby fingertips: Inferno, based on the novel of the same name, is set to hit cinemas at some point in 2016, presumably as an excuse for us to make fun of Tom Hanks' haircut.
