Although Man of Steel kicked off DC's current cinematic universe, a sequel to that movie has constantly been delayed by the head honchos at WB. The first attempt was initially transformed into Batman v Superman, with a true sequel being planned to release sometime after Justice League.

Of course, the fallout of that team-up project is still ongoing, as executives scramble to save their sinking ship. Man of Steel 2 talk has never gone away though, with Henry Cavill in particular wanting another go at a Supes solo film, reaffirming his commitment to the project earlier this year.

Conversations have been ongoing for years now, but with recent reports that DC are looking to soft-reboot their superhero universe in general in order to usher in a new Batman, there could be a chance that the long-talked-about Man of Steel 2 could instead give way to an entirely new version of the character.
