10 Utterly Absurd Comic Book Villains (That Could Be Great On Film)

6. Galactus

6 Galactus Cropped Galactus is a giant god-like cosmic entity that travels through space devouring planets in an attempt to satisfy his insatiable hunger. He imparts some of his power into others who operate as his heralds seeking out new planets to consume. The most famous of his heralds is the Silver Surfer who flies through space on his cosmic surfboard. Galactus wears a purple suit of armour complete with a tuning fork helmet. Utterly absurd and utterly awesome! How could he possibly work in film? The Silver Surfer and a really boring version of Galactus appeared in the 2007 Fantastic Four film Rise of the Silver Surfer. Instead of being a magnificent giant in a purple suit of armour with a tuning fork head, Galactus was shown as a cloud. Obviously one or more of the executives at Fox thought that classic Galactus would be too absurd for audiences to handle. The only way for Galactus to work in film is to embrace the absurdity and reveal him in his full shiny purple glory. Like with Doctor Doom, the Fantastic Four themselves need to acknowledge that Galactus, the infamous devourer of worlds, looks really bizarre.
