5. People Forgetting Him (Freddy Krueger)
Freddy Krueger was a disgusting paedophile and child-killer in life and became something even worse after his death. He gained the ability to haunt the dreams of the children of the street he lived in - Elm Street - to the extent that he could literally kill them while they slept. Thanks to the crazy reality-warping powers he also gained, he was virtually unstoppable and the children became easy pickings for him. That was until the adults of Elm Street stopped talking about Freddy as a ploy to make the children forget he ever existed, meaning his legacy was not passed on to the next generation, so he had no power over them. Those who did remember him were given a dream repressing drug called Hypnocil, which rendered Freddy impotent even to those who knew of him. In order to make Elm Street remember him, he called upon Jason Voorhees to invoke memories of him by having him go on a killing spree in his old stomping ground.
