9. Borderlands Jon Favreau
Video Game: A futuristic old western-type video game, Borderlands is full of over-the-top characters, dialogue, and action. We join one of four Vault Hunters, treasure hunters looking for a mythical cache of unknown glory and riches on the alien planet of Pandora. Blending a collection of "badass" companions and enemies with a sense of cartoonish fashion, Borderlands is a hilarious, "never can go too far" escapade that would make for great laughs and action on the big screen.
Director: There is a particular combination of pulse-pounding energy and comedy that Jon Favreau should be able to tackle with creative ease. As long as Favreau understands the atmosphere that makes Borderlands the crazy adventure that it is, the guy who helmed Iron Man could be a positive choice. Favreau usually knows when to take himself seriously and when not to. Just like any director, if he can appreciate the jokes and kinetics of the game, JF could make a great movie.
