10 Villains Perfect For The Batman Movie Trilogy (And Who Should Play Them)
5. Hush - James McAvoy
Thomas Elliott, a gifted surgeon once best friends with Bruce Wayne, grew to hate the Wayne family after Thomas Wayne saved the life of his mother after a car crash that Elliott set up himself, robbing him of his chance to gain the family fortune.
Using his facial surgery skills he can make masks of any person's face, but to do this he must cut off other’s faces to use them. Known as the Identity Killer in the Arkham City game, Hush is a somewhat underused Batman villain but would be able to produce a serial killer thrill fest akin to the likes of Seven.
Elliot’s alter ego is also one of Batman’s best designed foes, Jim Lee’s original drawing will surely be enough to inspire the costume designers of the future Batman films but also will go on to become a cosplaying and fancy dress craze that will continue long after the release date of his cinematic debut.
James McAvoy has played both charming geniuses and demented killers, and has famously played many roles in the same film. Split is the perfect film to see McAvoy’s ability for juggling characters seamlessly.
The jump from Thomas Elliott to Hush will be no challenge for Mr. McAvoy and since sadly his time as Charles Xavier seems to have come to a close, his diary for comic book roles seems to be open.
McAvoy once said in fact that he’d love to play the Riddler, luckily for him, in the animated adaptation of Hush’s debut comic, Hush is revealed to be Riddler himself. Though an unpopular change for many fans, it surely shows James McAvoy that Hush is a happy compromise for his dream role that has since already been cast.
