10 Ways The DCEU Films Nearly Turned Out Completely Different
4. Wayne Manor In Man Of Steel
Because Man of Steel was the first chapter of a brand new cinematic universe, comic fans weren't exactly sure what to expect. Would the movie contain cameos from iconic characters and references to future storylines like the MCU or would it tell a self-contained story?
Apart from some blink-and-you-will-miss-it Easter eggs like a Wayne Enterprises satellite and a Lexcorp skyscraper, Man of Steel barely acknowledged its lore outside of Superman. But things could have been different. In an interview to an EW (via cinemablend), Zack Snyder shared that he wanted the film to end with a scene showing a crate of Kryptonite being delivered to Wayne Manor.
Once Snyder said this idea aloud, he became obsessed with having the follow-up revolving around Batman and Superman duking it out. It's not certain why Snyder didn't include this scene but it may be because the DCEU was just getting started at the time. It would've been sensible to see how Man of Steel fared before setting up massive storylines for future movies.
Adding this scene probably wouldn't have changed the direction taken in Batman v Superman but it would've been a masterful cliffhanger.
