10 Ways The Marvel Multiverse Could Kill The MCU

6. Multiple Versions Of The Same Characters

This has been alluded to a few times now, but having multiple versions of the same characters is honestly kind of dumb. Loki came full circle when he died at the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, but in Avengers: Endgame, his alternate Earth counterpart escaped the custody of Earth's Mightiest Heroes in 2012 and is now getting his own Disney+ TV series.

Years of character development were undone, and there's now going to be a new, villainous Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who is going to be causing chaos all over again.

That's an admittedly fun prospect, but watching Star-Lord pine after a Gamora who doesn't remember him is not. As time passes, it's hard to believe they'll be the only different versions of familiar heroes and villains, especially as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is rumoured to include new takes on everyone from Iron Man to Spider-Man.

The novelty of that is bound to wear off before too long, though, and there are only so many times Marvel Studios will be able to pull this trick off.
