10 Ways The MCU Was Almost Unrecognizable

8. The Inhumans Film

You all remember The Inhumans? No? Good. You've chosen to forget that which is equal parts awfully forgettable and unforgettably awful.

Originally, The Inhumans was slated to be a film, set to drop right before Endgame. As we all know, that didn't happen, and instead, the property went to Marvel TV and morphed into the sad, flaccid ABC series that we all know, before it was finally cancelled after just one season (a mercy killing if there ever was one).

But what happened? No one has given a decisive answer, but we can probably assume that Kevin Feige wasn't as committed to the project as Ike Perlmutter.

The film was on the schedule before the restructuring at Marvel, which ousted Perlmutter from his role in the MCU films division. Not long after, the film was scrapped. Perhaps Feige never wanted to proceed with the film (at least, not yet), and without Perlmutter there to twist his arm, he was free to cancel it.

If The Inhumans actually hit theaters, perhaps Feige could've actually overseen the production of a good movie. We also may have never gotten The Eternals.

If we're lucky, we may still see The Inhumans somewhere down the road.
