5. Bobby Peru Pays a Visit Wild At Heart (1990)
While a certain other character takes the crown for best villain in a David Lynch film (more on that later on in the list), Willem Dafoe as the grotesque and intimidating Bobby Peru is surely not far behind. He only appears in the film for a short amount of time but his impact is undoubtedly felt and nowhere is that more exemplified than when he gets Laura Dern's Lula alone in a hotel room and threatens her up-close-and-personal. The scene is played so intimately that you can almost smell Bobby's stinking breath, before it ends with a punch line that only he finds funny while we are left as shocked and appalled as Lula. Is it a wonder that there's a certain relief to Bobby meeting a sticky end via accidental suicide with a shotgun later on in the film? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUtn7e05C8M
