10 Most Wildly Inconsistent Actors In Movie History

5. Al Pacino

HOO-HAH! There was a time when Al Pacino could seemingly do no wrong - one could argue that The Godfather to Glengarry Glen Ross marks one of the finest cinematic runs that any actor, ever, has pulled out of the bag. And then along came Scent of a Woman in '92, which, yes, won Pacino his Oscar, but there was no denying that the performance was over the top - Pacino doing his best version of a Pacino character. There was also a general feeling that the Academy had bestowed the award upon the actor for all the great work in his back catalogue. Ever since then, though, Al Pacino has found himself transformed into one of Hollywood's most inconsistent actors - a good performance here, a forgettable performance there... hey, maybe he'll phone this one in, and - you know - this one might win a couple of awards, why not? Though there have been a few admirable performances, the last 10 years have seen Pacino nominated for a whopping four Golden Raspberries, all for roles which he obviously did for the money. He must need it - why else would he have agreed to the Sky adverts?
