10 Woefully Miscast Actors In Comic Book Movies

1. Jesse Eisenberg As Lex Luthor - Batman Vs Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Lex Luthor

Perhaps the most obvious inclusion on this list, the character of Lex Luthor is typically portrayed as a man in his late 40’s, he is cold, calculated, incredibly intelligent and certainly a match for the Man Of Steel, despite possessing no superpowers of his own.

Casting 33-year-old Jesse Eisenberg was a strange decision, and the fact he was too young, he didn’t have the correct build or even shave his hair was never a good start. Jesse is a talented actor of course, and there was always the chance he’d pull a ‘Heath Ledger’ and surprise us all. He didn’t.

Playing the character as a stuttering and awkward man-child, Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor is not intimidating, funny, relatable and frankly not interesting at all. He acted more like The Riddler than anything even close to Lex Luthor. The only real similarity between the character in the comic books and in this film is the name they share.

Many people thought that Bryan Cranston would have been perfect for this part considering he has just spent five years playing an intimidating and menacing bald villain in one of the greatest TV shows of all time.

If only.
