The most important job of a dad is to love their child. That's priority numero uno! If you're doing that, then you're on the right path. That said, loving your kid is not a free pass for making reprehensible parenting decisions, a lesson Nathan Wallace never seemed to learn.

Repo! The Genetic Opera is a bombastic horror ride that you need to check out, especially if you love rock operas. The protagonist is Shilo, a young girl with a blood condition that forces her to remain locked inside her room. Sounds tragic enough already, right? Well, it gets worse once you learn that her disease is a fabricated story fed to her by her dad.

It's easy to try and excuse Nathan's actions, as his intention was to keep Shilo safe. However, gaslighting your daughter into believing she has an incurable disease, feeding her medicine that makes her sick and keeping her under house arrest is not the best way to go about it.

That's not even taking into account the fact that Nathan is also the titular Repo Man who harvests organs from people who haven't kept up with their payments. His heart is in the right place, mostly, but that doesn't excuse his actions.
