10 Worst Ever Accent Fails In Film

8. Mickey Rooney – Breakfast At Tiffany’s

This was not just an abysmal accent, but it was incredibly racist. Mickey Rooney as Mr. Yunioshi does ‘yellow-face’ racism to the point that watching him is one of cinema’s most cringe-worthy moments.

It is weird to think that just a couple of decades ago, a respected actor who was nominated for four Oscars, could do this kind of performance in a film that won two Oscars. For clarification purposes, it is important to note that Mickey Rooney did not get a best supporting actor nomination for his role in Breakfast At Tiffany’s. Good.

Rooney's role seems completely incongruous to the rest of the film. Tiffany’s is not a slapstick comedy film at any point other than when Rooney’s Bugs Bunny teeth are on the screen. And luckily that is kept down to just a few painful scenes.
