10 Worst Fox Marvel Movies

9. X-Men: The Last Stand

In the 13 years since its release, X-Men: The Last Stand has been picked apart for all its failures in ways that a few paragraphs couldn't really do justice. In a world where trilogy-enders like Blade: Trinity and Spider-Man 3 exist, The Last Stand remains a poster child for simply getting so much wrong - to the point it was eventually wiped from continuity - which is even more frustrating because it does get some things right.

Take, for instance, the pitch-perfect casting of Kelsey Grammar as Beast, the fact that Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen are just as good as ever, or that we get to see cool comic book things happen, such as the Danger Room being utilized or Iceman finally icing up, all of which are great elements of the movie taken on their own. It's just too bad that they're sandwiched between so much the film gets wrong that it all feels like a wash.

Of course, the film's most infamous sin is that it served as a terrible adaptation of "The Dark Phoenix Saga," but it also well and truly wasted characters like Cyclops, Mystique, and Angel, tried to cram in the mutant cure plot, and carried no real emotional weight. As a film on its own, its a disappointing mess, but as a follow-up to two great films, particularly X2, which set a real high bar for it to reach, it's rendered all the more of a letdown when it had every chance to send the trilogy out on a soaring high.
