Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey was the first chapter of The Twisted Childhood Universe, which reimagines characters from children's media into murderous sickos. Despite the fact the Blood and Honey films were universally panned, the TCU has no intention of stopping, since they just released the third instalment, this time focused on Peter Pan.

In Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare, J.M. Barrie's creation is depicted as a masked lunatic who butchers children to stop them from growing up. When Wendy's brother is kidnapped by Peter, she teams up with a heroin addict called Tinker Bell to rescue him.

Neverland's Nightmare has a promising start since it wastes no time delving into the reworked lore and visceral action. But at the end of the day, it's still pure garbage. Although it's easy to dismiss this schlock for mutilating the source material, a darker spin on The Boy Who Never Grew Up could work. (Hell, Chip 'n Dale: Rescue Rangers revised Peter Pan into a sadistic villain surprisingly well.)

The problem is Neverland's Nightmare is marred by the same problems as its predecessors, including sluggish pacing, uncreative gore, and rote dialogue. The characters have no survival instincts, so it's hard to root for them when they willingly throw themselves into harm's way.

Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is marginally better than the previous instalments, but that's not saying much.
