10 Worst Movie Trailers Of The 2010s
5. Jack And Jill
This trailer distilled one of the most universally-hated movies of the 2010s into a two-and-a-half-minute car crash.
The concept of Jack and Jill – a comedy about a pair of twins both played by Adam Sandler – is enough to make anyone roll their eyes. Seeing such a concept in action makes this trailer almost unwatchable. From the moment Sandler appears and starts talking to himself, it’s clear this movie has nothing to offer.
As with Holmes and Watson, the humour is shallow and cringeworthy. Neither the dialogue nor the physical comedy lands in this trailer.
The choice of music is also disconcerting. The Electric Light Orchestra’s ‘Don't Bring Me Down’ plays throughout much of this trailer, and it does not sit naturally alongside Sandler’s crass humour.
Just like the final product, this brief preview is horrendous. Sandler may have redeemed himself in recent years with films such as Uncut Gems, but Jack and Jill was his darkest hour.
