10 Worst Neighbours In Horror Movies

4. Jerry Dandrige (Fright Night)

The Purge
Columbia Pictures

Chris Sarandon's a solid contender for best screen vampire ever thanks to his charismatic, debonair take on the monstrous Jerry Dandrige. Moving in next door to the teenaged Charley Brewster, Dandrige quickly falls under his neighbour's watchful gaze. Initially suspecting Dandrige to be a serial killer, Brewster (and the audience) are in for a far crazier ride when it turns out Dandrige is a blood sucking fiend.

Drifting from town to town, Dandrige hunts, seduces and slays his prey, eventually moving on before any major suspicion finds him. Nobody wants any kind of killer moving in next door, yet alone a super strong, immortal one.

While Dandrige's disdain towards Charley spying on him would normally be reasonable, his murderous antics and threats place him firmly in the wrong. Worse still, for the unlucky folks who succumb to his bloodlust, Dandrige doesn't even let them live on as a vampire when he's done. Instead, he decapitates them, claiming it's a mercy to save them from living the grisly, vampiric liftestyle. It seems likely this excuse is just a cover for Dandrige simply not wanting any competition hunting his food supply.

On the bright side, neighbours won't hear a peep from this guy during the day.
