5. The True Memoirs Of An International Assassin

This Kevin James comedy at least has a much more creative premise than what is usually associated with the actor's other projects, centering around a spy thriller writer who gets mistaken for an actual international assassin and must now play along in order to survive.

But the makers of this movie seem to have forgotten the lesson the makers of the film this is a remake of remembered: you kinda have to have good writing BEYOND the initial premise in order for anyone to give a rat's ass.

Such wisdom is lost on the makers of this film, sadly, and what we get is - well - a Kevin James comedy with ever so slightly more ambition. So, think Pixels, but nowhere near as interestingly bad.

It's actually kind of hilarious just how not a single joke in this movie works. Obviously that's a big criteria for a comedy getting on a list like this, but Kissing Booth had one or two jokes that worked okay enough, which is how this movie beat it out for the top 5. And of course, when the comedy doesn't work in a comedy movie, it doesn't really matter what else the film does right.
