10 Worst Performances In Sci-Fi Movie History
1. Hayden Christensen As Anakin Skyawlker - Star Wars Episode II & III
From the mind of George Lucas, we saw the birth of one of sci-fi's greatest franchises with an outstanding trilogy of movies that set the bar for all those that came after.
And then, also from the mind of George Lucas, we watched in horror as he produced the prequel trilogy, a tangled mess of unnecessary comic relief characters, wooden dialogue about trade disputes, and some really bizarre acting.
The last of these comes by way of Hayden Christensen in Episodes II and III, as the young actor portrays Anakin Skywalker's rise through the Jedi ranks and his subsequent fall to the Dark Side of the force.
Whether your choice is the strange, incredibly angry explanation of the character's dislike for sand, the tearful slaughter of countless sand people and younglings alike, or bouts of unexpected rage and childlike tantrums, everyone has their reasons why Christensen's performance warrants an inclusion on this list.
To be entirely fair, though, it wasn't entirely the actor's fault. Lucas' dialogue is notoriously bad, and while Christensen wasn't the only actor to fall foul of it, he certainly came off the worst.
Still, the lightsaber fights were good, right?
