10 Worst Performances In Sci-Fi Movie History
2. Rihanna As Petty Officer Cora 'Weps' Raikes - Battleship
Sometimes, talent is hidden in the places you'd least expect it, and letting musicians try their hand at acting isn't always a bad idea.
However, Hasbro's idea to throw an awful lot of money into re-imagining the classic board game as a movie wasn't exactly a stroke of genius to begin with, and casting Rihanna as Petty Officer Cora Raikes turned out to be quite the fumble.
Now, there's no denying that the chance to see Rihanna in her debut movie role filled a few more seats in theaters, but she was just so... unprepared.
Rihanna spent the entirety of her screen time seeming entirely disinterested with the ongoing alien invasion, as evidenced by her outstanding flat delivery of a monologue regarding her late father's apparent warnings of hostile alien life.
Now, to the singer's credit, the writing was also awful, but let's not let that cloud our judgement too much, because her performance was laughable even at the best of times.
There isn't a great amount of decent acting in Battleship by anyone, but Rihanna's performance was by far the worst.
