10 X-Men Characters That Deserve Their Own Movie

5. Storm

storm It can be left open to debate, but Storm hasn't necessarily been portrayed very well in the X-Men movies so far. That might be due to Halle Berry€™s capabilities, or even the terrible lines she€™s been given, but it still stands that Storm is a character that hasn't really received any proper treatment. Storm first appeared in Giant-Size X-Men, along with newcomers Colossus, Nightcrawler and Wolverine, and since then it could be said that she€™s held her own as one of the most important characters in the X-Men. She has starred in various miniseries, and been a major focal point in the animated series. Otherwise known as Ororo Munroe, Storm started off life as an orphan stuck in Egypt. With her parents gone, young Storm resorted to a life of thievery, before being recruited by Xavier. Her mutant gene enables her to control the weather in a wonderful variety of ways, by utilising powerful tornadoes, lightning and even acid rain. She has always been a strong female lead in the X-Men, and it would be fitting to have her support her own movie. Strong female protagonists are always welcome on the big screen, and she€™s the strongest black female character in the comic industry, so that has to stand for something. A retelling of her origin could work out rather nicely, but it would be wise to inject something fresh into the genre other than another origin story. She has always had a bitter rivalry with the sewer-dwelling Morlocks, so let€™s have the mutant Morlock Callisto as the main antagonist, and place Storm in unfamiliar territory. It could be very beneficial for the character, with the right talent involved. So of course, that excludes Halle Berry automatically.
