10 X-Men Mistakes The MCU Must Avoid

3. Don't Waste Cast Members...Or Characters

One of the most annoying habits of the both the original and rebooted X-Men franchises was the fact they wasted so many actors...and mutants! The likes of Psylocke, Havok, Gambit, Sabretooth, and Quicksilver may have received a handful of memorable moments between them, but they were otherwise wasted, a crime given what storied history they have in the comic books.

The same goes for actors like Evan Peters, Tye Sheridan, and Ellen Page, and the main problem appears to be that Fox simply couldn't handle large ensemble casts in their Marvel movies.

Marvel Studios either needs to keep the spotlight on a small group of X-Men or make sure they all count, because they otherwise run the risk of repeating past mistakes. The same applies to the generic, no-name mutants who would often be seen in the background of scenes. There was no point to them even being on screen, and Xavier's School was packed full of generic extras like this.

Mutants need to be a huge part of the MCU, but not if it means key characters and actors become glorified background scenery just to make what we're seeing that little bit cooler.
