10 X-Men Movie Concept Designs Better Than What We Got
2. Trask's Cameo (X-Men: Apocalypse)
Concept art which surfaced shortly after the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past appears to confirm that Peter Dinklage’s Bolivar Trask was in line for a cameo in the movie's sequel, Apocalypse.
This striking sketch from Bartol Rendulic shows the Sentinels creator being held at gunpoint by Mystique as he steps off a jet docked in Stryker’s base. What he's doing there and why the scene failed to make the final cut is unknown.
In Days of Future Past's revised timeline, Trask was arrested for his crimes, but from the look of things, that isn't the end of his character arc. If nothing else, it would have been cool to see Dinklage reprise his role, albeit fleetingly.
Whether this scene will be carried over to the upcoming X-Men: Dark Phoenix remains to be seen, but after studying the concept art, it's difficult not to wonder whether Trask is now at large in the X-movie universe.
