You wouldn't think it to look at him, but Omega Red was actually Russia's attempt to replicate the Super Soldier serum and create their own Captain America. Clearly, something went wrong there, but nonetheless, Omega Red is a force to be reckoned with. After becoming a successful Soviet operative for the KGB, Omega Red had retractable tentacles implanted into each of his arms, enhancing an already impressive mutant power set that includes superhuman strength and a healing factor to rival Wolverine's. The metal in Omega Red's tentacles is poisonous however, so to survive, the Russian mutant must steal the life force of others, like a mutant vampire of sorts. As if that wasn't impressive enough, Omega Red also possesses the ability to secrete pheromones known as Death Spores, which can severely weaken and even kill normal humans within a matter of seconds. Omega Red would look fantastic on the big screen and it would be particularly exciting to see him match Wolverine in a one to one fight, as the two have a lot of history together in the comics. In recent years, the Russian mutant has also become a successful crime lord and using Omega Red in this way would expose another aspect of the Marvel Universe which has been mostly neglected on the big screen, due to an emphasis on larger, cosmic scaled events. A focus on the criminal underworld could also tie in with the upcoming Netflix shows which aim to explore the Marvel Universe from a street level.
