10 X-Men Villains Who Should Appear In The Movies

4. Archangel

X-Men founding member Angel was given a rough deal in the comics; for many years, his mutant ability to fly using large feathered wings was overshadowed by the more impressive powers of his peers. To address this, Warren Worthington's entire persona was revamped in the late 1980's, transforming the self-absorbed playboy into an evil destructive villain. Technically, Archangel has been a hero far longer than he has been a villain, but the evolution of his character is a pivotal story line that could be mind blowing if translated to film effectively. After Angel's wings were mutilated during battle, he woke up in hospital and discovered that both wings had been amputated. In despair, Angel escaped using his private jet which exploded mid-flight, but at the last moment, the villain Apocalypse saved him and offered a deal; to regain his wings, Angel would have to serve Apocalypse as the Horseman of Death. Worthington agreed and was transformed into a blue skinned antagonist whose metallic wings could slice through almost anything and even fire metal feathers as projectiles. Eventually, Worthington regained his superhero persona, but the entire ordeal left a mark on him that he has never been able to forget. X-Men: The Last Stand did a poor job of translating Angel to the big screen, although actor Ben Foster certainly has the capability to portray Angel's downfall if given the right script. Little has been confirmed yet regarding the upcoming sequel X-Men: Apocalypse, but it would be safe to say that the Four Horsemen will make an appearance and who better to be included than their most famous member to date?
