100 Most Disappointing Films Of All Time

27. The Da Vinci Code (2006)

Da Vinci Code The Bible, 50 Shades Of Grey and The DaVinci Code are all examples of sub-par books that for some reason have taken the world by storm. The film version had promise, especially with the likes of Tom Hanks and Ron Howard attached but sadly it was worse than the book it was based on. Setting aside the annoying criticisms from religious groups, film critics called it dull, bloated, boring and predictable. Ron Howard said he was ''frustrated'' by the criticism so at least he knew how we felt watching the film.

26. Grease 2 (1982)

grease-2-original Not a fan of musicals, you probably still hold a soft spot for Grease. The first film was a huge hit and the plan was to make three sequels and a TV series to capitalise on its success. However, the studio stumbled on the first hurdle by making Grease 2 an absolute turkey of a film. A thin plot linked some really dire musical numbers and that meant the film was panned by critics and cinema audiences. But it did feature a young Michelle Pfeiffer in her first major role and she is the one good thing in the film....also she looks damn hot in tight trousers.

25. Catwoman (2004)

catwoman_2004_4 Taking an established comic book character and removing them entirely from the universe they normally inhabit was a brave move and Catwoman starring Halle Berry showed us how not to do it. Not set in Gotham City, the story followed Patience Phillips (Berry) who works for a cosmetics company run by Laurel Hedare (Sharon Stone). When she is caught overhearing Hedare talking about the potential side effects from using one of their products, she is flushed down a conduit pipe and washes up on the shore where she is bitten by a cat. Patience then turns in to Catwoman and proceeds to confront her former boss. The story was rubbish, the acting was terrible and almost everyone hated the film. Fans of Catwoman couldn't understand why it wasn't set in Gotham and apart from a slight glimpse of Michelle Pfeiffer, the decision to ignore the Batman universe was frankly unforgivable. The film was quite rightly a flop and went on to win a number of Golden Raspberry awards. At least Halle Berry had the good sense to accept the award for Worst Actress in person.

24. Alien Vs Predator (2004)

Alien_Vs_Predator__XVID___2004_-fanart6 Along with Michael Bay, Paul W.S Anderson is someone who should never be allowed to get his hands on a franchise. James Cameron stopped work on Alien 5 when it was announced that the studio was pressing ahead with their Vs movie, he felt it was milking the franchise. But with Mr Anderson behind the scenes, they was doing far worse than milking it, they were turning the two franchises into a joke. Annoying humans, silly storyline and action scenes that were so dark, it felt like you were watching the film with shades on is what we were presented with. "Whoever wins, we lose" was the tag line and it was right, we lost!

23. Judge Dredd (1995)

JudgeDredd Stallone seemed to be the perfect choice to play Dredd, he had the voice and the jaw to pull it off. However, if they left it at that and didn't take liberties with the source material like removing the helmet, just maybe the film wouldn't have been the stinker it was. But of course that wasn't the only problems with the film, the plot was silly, Rob Schneider, Rico the villain was crap and the Gianni Versace designed costumes were way too camp to be taken seriously. Everyone including Stallone and series creator John Wagner distanced themselves from the mess but at least disappointed Dredd fans finally got the film they wanted with the awesome 2012 Dredd staring Karl Urban.
