9. Doug Jones is Psycho Mantis
You'll be forgiven for not recognising the face on the left, because the majority of the time, he is kept behind a mask. Nevertheless, Doug Jones has carved out a hugely successful career for himself; you'll know him best as Abe Sapien in Guillermo del Toro's
Hellboy films, the Pale Man in
Pan's Labyrinth (also helmed by del Toro), and the Silver Surfer in
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. The former contortionist has a fantastic knack for playing strange, tortured creatures, and so would fit the role of Psycho Mantis extremely well. For the majority of his roles, Jones is dubbed over by other actors - such as David Hyde Pierce for Hellboy - but it surely wouldn't be difficult to find any of a multitude of voice actors to fit that role, perhaps even the original Mantis voice himself, Doug Stone, to reprise his role. Needless to say, it's difficult to imagine anyone who could be better equipped for the role's physical demands.
