6. Pierce Brosnan Acts Like James Bond To Stop Stunt Car Tragedy
Pierce Brosnan has played 007 four times but he proved he's a real man of action on the set of his 2010 film Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief. As co-star Uma Thurman relaxed between takes on the grass with other cast members and crew, Brosnan spotted a stunt vehicle with no-one behind the wheel speeding down a hill towards them. He shouted for everyone to get out of the way before running after the van. Brosnan managed to get the driver's door open, jump in and hit the brakes as he veered away from the group. He clipped a kerb and careered into bins before managing to screech to a halt. The proud Irishman was apparently thanked with a string of Bond jokes from the grateful Thurman - while transportation staff were being given a rollicking for leaving the emergency break off. A source from the film said: "He got there just in time or it could have been a serious accident. He may be 56 but he sure can run. Everyone scattered out of harm's way but Pierce just told everyone to calm down and get on with the shoot. He wasn't remotely phased by it."
