1. Alcohol Is The Cause Of The Team's Transformation - Fantastic Four

And the summer's dumbest moment comes from easily the summer's most disappointing movie: Josh Trank's botched attempt to reboot the Fantastic Four franchise. The most insulting moment is what should be the most iconic: the transformation scene itself in which Reed (Miles Teller), Johnny (Michael B. Jordan), Ben (Jamie Bell) and Sue (Kate Mara) become the titular foursome, while Victor von Doom (Toby Kebbell) becomes the villainous Doom. Where the source material dictates that the transformation happens as the result of an epic experiment gone awry, here it only happens because Victor, Reed and Johnny get drunk and decide to visit Planet Zero on an unauthorised mission, to "plant their flag" before their research is handed over to NASA. Naturally, all hell breaks loose when they get there, and it's debatable that the accident never would've happened had they been sober. It's just a very weak set-up for the rest of the movie (which goes one further by completely ruining the Doom character), and doesn't exactly endear these characters to the audience, instead insisting that they're stupid and irresponsible.
