11 Minor Changes That Stopped Famous Movies From Sucking

1. The Studio Originally Asked James Cameron To Pair Kyle Reese With A Robot Canine Sidekick In The Terminator

The Terminator Dog Here we are at The Terminator, a movie so much improved by minor changes made over the course of its production that it might as well have an article dedicated entirely to that subject. Here's one minor change that we're so glad was unconsidered before it could be implemented that it's right here at number one, because there's no way in hell James Cameron's movie could ever have been nearly as successful as it was with... yes, a robot dog. When Cameron was hired to make The Terminator, the studio were actually pretty cool about leaving him to get on with crafting the motion picture on his own. They did give him a couple of notes, though, one of which suggested that - yes - Kyle Reece should have a cyborg canine to accompany him on his journey, because, c'mon, this was the '80s, and people love that sort of thing. Except they don't, really, which is why Cameron refused to consider such an insane idea, and The Terminator emerged as a bonafide classic. What could have been, huh? Like this article?
