11 Most Exciting Captain America: Civil War Rumours

4. Either Black Panther Or Spider-Man Will Unmask

In the Civil War comic book storyline, Tony Stark convinced a long-established Spider-Man to unmask in front of the world. It had a huge impact and was extremely symbolic and important, as very few characters in the Marvel world actually knew that it was Peter Parker behind the mask (it also had detrimental effects on those close to Peter Parker, but that's another story). While it wouldn't have quite the same impact in the Marvel Cinematic Universe - given that Spider-Man would be a new character in that world - there is a rumour that he could still take on that role in the movie version. Alternatively, there's also a rumour that it could be Black Panther taking on that role. Again, however, the impact wouldn't exactly be great, as Black Panther would be a new character to audiences as well - though he could at least have been active off screen for several years before in his homeland of Wakanda (which is more that can be said of a pubescent and newly powerful Peter Parker). These rumours spawn mostly from the fact that none of the established characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe really wear masks, so it might have to be either Black Panther or Spidey unmasking. That being said, Ant-Man will wear a mask and will already be established by the time this movie comes around, so it's a surprise not to hear more about him potentially unmasking in the Civil War movie.
