11 Movies Where NOBODY Survives To The End

1. Beneath The Planet Of The Apes

The second Planet Of The Apes movie comes from an era where doing a sequel was frowned upon. It was seen a cheap, tacky move, to the point where star Charlton Heston wanted nothing to do with it. He was eventually talked into a well paid cameo, which he agreed to with one specific condition: that he got to blow up the planet by the end of the movie. He got his wish. The insane plot finds another astronaut landing on future Earth looking for the missing Heston. After getting through some ape trouble he€™s captured by psychic mutants who worship an unexploded atom bomb. The apes arrive to kill the mutants, a lot of blood is shed and a dying Heston curses everyone out before setting off the world ending bomb. End credits. It€™s a spectacularly bleak ending, which is all the more surprising that it was only the second film in the original series. They used time travel to cheat Heston out of his wish to stop more sequels; though he did later admit he should have done more to earn an easy paycheck. Can you think of any other movies so bleak that absolutely nobody survives to the end? Share your picks in the comments.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
