4. Crispin Glover - Back To The Future Part II
This example is a little more tragic than most, and Glover did have to work for his money in a roundabout way. During the making of Part One the young actor got into a fierce argument with the producer over the ending, where he felt the message was Being rich makes you happy. They softened the planned ending based on his feedback, but the relationship between the two men soured. When it came time for the sequel Glover turned the script down; he claims it was because he was being offered half what the other actors were making, and the producer claims he asked for the same salary Michael J. Fox was receiving. Instead they reused old footage and put an actor in some Crispin Glover prosthetics to portray the character, and Glover was understandably furious. He sued the studio for stealing his likeness, and the lawsuit caused major changes to made regarding using an actors image onscreen. Glover is said to have made around $750,000 from the lawsuit, but remains angry about it to this day.
