9. Deckard Will Be Revealed As A Replicant – Blade Runner 2049
It’s strange to label this one a theory since Ridley Scott confirmed long ago he intended Deckard to be a replicant. Harrison Ford and a lot of fans disagree with that assessment, though, stating Deckard needs to be human for the story to work.
The odds are good this question will be settled for good with Blade Runner 2049, which sees Ford return and apparently being chased by new Blade Runner Ryan Gosling. Currently, there’s not much plot to be had, but it will revolve around Gosling finding Deckard for some reason, and it seems unlikely the replicant question won’t be settled one way or another.
Director Denis Villeneuve has played coy about this, and hinted that maybe the new movie will keep things ambiguous too; which might be for the best, honestly.
