Reed Diamond has notched up two recurring roles in Whedon-created TV shows. Firstly, he played Laurence Dominic, the head of security of the Dollhouse, in, um, Dollhouse. It was a role that was only meant to be a one-off in the show's pilot but Whedon said that Diamond and the character "stuck like fly-paper" and he went on to appear in 15 episodes of the series. More recently, he turned up as villainous HYDRA agent (is there any other kind of HYDRA agent?) Daniel Whitehall in Agents Of SHIELD's second season, a character based on a comics supervillain known as the Kraken. In the interim, Whedon cast him in his movie version of Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing in 2012 as Don Pedro.
