1. Nic Cage

Some people might say it's cruel to put Nic Cage in this sort of bracket, but he makes so many films these days that are absolutely abject and close to unwatchable that his career has become a sort of white noise with no definition. Occasionally, there are flashes of brilliance - as in 2013's Joe and Kick-Ass in 2010, but with pretty much everything else, it's astonishing it all even gets cinematic releases.

But the second half of 2018 might be a big time for Cage, who has the festival darling action horror flick Mandy coming in September and a voice role in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse to follow-up his turn as Superman in the delightful Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.

Let's hope that will go some way to convincing everyone that he's more than the guy who is also starring Looking Glass, Between Worlds, 211 and The Humanity Bureau this year. Which nobody will see on purpose. Sadly, his 2019 looks similar, but at least some good will help change the tone of the conversation around him... Maybe.
