1. Christian Bale - Everything

After dropping 63lbs for The Machinist and then piling on 80lbs for Batman Begins, Christian Bale had the world record for losing and gaining the most weight for a role in movie history. With those two films alone, the Welsh actor proved he was the king of transforming himself physically.

And then, he... just... kept doing that. He lost 55lbs a year later for Rescue Dawn, gained it back two years later for The Dark Knight, lost 65lbs for The Fighter, and regained it for The Dark Knight Rises. He gained another 45lbs for American Hustle, which put so much pressure on his back, he herniated two discs.

After he put on another 45lbs to portray Dick Cheney in Vice, he had to work with a nutritionist since he was worried he could cause irreversible damage to his body.

It is commendable that the chameleonic actor disappears into his roles the way he does but at a certain point, you stop being impressed and start becoming deeply concerned for his well-being. Although he transforms his body for the sake of authenticity, he shouldn't risk putting his health or his life on the line.
